” Exploring the layers of the earth is like reading the pages of the book”
~James W. Mercer
In our discussion about the layers of the Earth, there are four compositions of the earth. These were the crust, mantle, outer core, and inner core. The crust is the outer layer of the earth, and it is like the peel or rind of an orange. The mantle is the thickest layer of the earth. The mantle is hot, dense, dark rock and it represents about 68% of the Earth’s mass. The third layer is the outer core. It is made from iron and nickel, in liquid form. And the fourth layer is the inner core. It is a solid metal ball, extremely dense and also made mostly of iron and nickel, just in solid form.

In my reflection, we are studying the layers of the earth to find out what the things behind and beneath us are. I know a lot of us have many questions about what is behind and beneath us, and so by studying it, some of our curiosity and questions might be answered. This topic taught me a lot, and it’s exciting to learn more about our planet Earth. This blog will end here. I will see you on the next blog!
